What Our Residential Health Care Aides DO.

What does a jomay homecare personal companion aide do? our PCAs provide personal care, assist with ambulation and perform other procedures as directed by Nursing or therapy services. At all times the PCA works under written instructions prepared by your client care coordinator and based on physician’s plans or treatments.

Companion care services

Our aides can help the patient with bathing, including helping the patient get in and out of the bath, or helping the patient wash themselves. If requested our aides can assist with beauty and bathroom use.

Our main goal of companion care is to provide social and emotional support to seniors living alone. The companion also helps with daily activities, like running errands or accompanying the senior when they go shopping.

Companions may come every day, a few times a week, or just for weekly visits. The visits may last a few hours or be a full day.

Our aides can help the patient with bathing, including helping the patient get in and out of the bath, or helping the patient wash themselves. If requested our aides can assist with beauty and bathroom use.

Housekeeping

Sometimes a patient may want or need light housekeeping assistant, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, organizing and or even washing dishes. These chores are things that the patient is ordinarily unable to do by themselves.

Daily Activities of Patient

It is important to keep a log of the daily activities of the patient, for both the family and the physician. Our Aides will track and document the daily activities of the patient. This may include meals eaten and housework performed, or if the patient and aide left the home at any time. In some cases, other health care initiatives may also need to be documented.​

Errands

Jomay Homecare Residential Health Aides may assist the patient with arranging errands, such as meals on wheels or grocery delivery services.​

Meal Preparation

Our Residential Health Aides can help prepare meals if requested. This may include breakfast, lunch and dinner, depending on the aide’s hours.

PERSONAL CARE SERVICES

Our Personal Companion Care Service helps those who are in a situation where they need assistance to be able to go about their daily living activities, yet they may not need the level of continuous nursing care provided by a nursing home. Many of our patients use this service because it allows them to stay in their own home and receive the proper care they need. Our Personal Care Aides will coordinate your care with your family members and physician as needed. Our registered nurse will first evaluate your needs in your home, and subsequently use that assessment to draw up a care plan and monitor closely your progress.

WHAT OUR PERSONAL CARE AIDES DO

Our Personal Care Aides work closely with our Client Care Coordinators and Registered Nurses. Our aides are also responsible for some basic home care tasks, such as transfers, medication reminders, and helping with artificial limbs or walking aides.

  • Mouth Care: the cleaning of teeth or dentures
  • Nail Care: Clean & file only
  • Foot Care: Foot soak
  • Incontinent Care

  • Use of Hoyer Lift
  • Range of Motion Exercises
  • Remind client to take prescribed medications.
